And it’s hilarious too. When Gloria, the Living Half Lady, announces that she is the victim of a failed magical trick, The Great Aldini, alias Alan Smith from Bradford, is furious. She is spoiling his Great Attraction and the audience becomes involved in an hilarious domestic dispute. “It’s all in the best possible taste”, protests Aldini, the Freak Show proprietor.
It’s actually a baffling live illusion with the original, spectacular 1950s fairground artwork on a six-metre-wide outside show front. The show inside has been completely restaged and dramatised from elements of the original spiel.
This show is a masterpiece of illusion and humour, it’s deviously deceptive. When Gloria wants to know what has become of her appendages and decides to spill the beans to the audience watch out as the sparks fly!
